SCBA Training September 23 & 30, 2008

Firefighters Peter Bowman and Pat Purcell from the Westborough Fire Department taught members of the Post about SCBA usage.  The first night of training was classroom training.  Members learned about each SCBA component, safety features and how to don and doff the units.  The second night of training was a practical evolution where members donned the units with blacked out masks.  Members had to follow a hose through a maze of obstacles.  The members got a great appreciation for the difficulties firefighters face in the extreme conditions they work in.

Many thanks to Firefighters Bowman and Purcell for putting this all together.  It was a great learning experience for the Post!
